Properties

Material Characteristics

Noctaliyan diamonds are not true diamonds, although their chemical composition is similar. The atomic lattice of carbon atoms is puntuated by a regular pattern of intrusions which contain free electron resonators, a state of matter stablised from the plasma of white dwalf stars, such as the one around which the planet of Noctaliya orbits.
Noctaliyan diamonds are not quite as hard as true diamonds, although they have a similar strength.

Physical & Chemical Properties

In the presence of magnetic fields, Noctaliyan diamonds glow with a faint but beautiful light. This makes them highly valued in costume jewelry which is typically made to include complementary magnetic materials designed to induce illumination within the diamonds.
