Oloonya Sarald
Oloonya Sarald was a reclusive mage who lived in the mountains of south and central Punjuki during the age of the First Popular Ascendency.
She discovered the Triquetra Orchid in 1959 APC and gained fame by popularising its use, locally, as an aid to meditation and concentration during spell casting. By 1962 APC, she had developed the techniques for the manufacture of Arcane Amplification Perfume (AAP).
During her lifetime she was very cautious about protecting the locations where the orchids grew, and such was the affection and respect in which she was held that no-one thought to seek them out. But after her untimely death in 1975 APC, eager mages and botanists searched the mountain rainforests and soon found the secret places where Olooya had harvested their flowers. It was not long before a simple village grew up in close proximity and this would eventually become the city of Highloft.

Long after her death, Oloonya Sarald became a revered figure in Highloft, despite the fact that it is far from clear she would have endorsed the organised exploitation of the Triquetra Orchid on the scale that the city allowed.
Her name was borrowed in a number of different contexts so that her fame only grew with time. The airship "The Sarald" shown in the illustration below, is one such example. This one operated in the Highloft Intercity Fleet during the 31st century APC.
