Saphira's Desire

Saphira's Desire is the largest single cut sapphire in the world of the Lost Retreat. It is the most precious artifact possessed by the Church of Hidden Radiance and it is kept securely at the Cathedral of Hidden Radiance and brought out on special occasions, such as the feast of Saphira, the goddess of sapphires, which traditionally marks the quickening of the year on 24th of Colddays.
The gemstone is mounted on a stem and support made of the finest Carafon silver. The light which shnes through it is symbolic of all the hidden radiance which the church seeks to bring out into the light, through the holy calling of mining.
