Simon Matterbull

Simon Matterbull was a playwright, born at the end of the Age of the Water Kingdoms and active at the beginning of the Age of the Three Rogue Mages. His writing reaches back into ancient times, long before the Planar Conformation, the Old Pale Empire and even the Sundering, allowing him a great deal of dramatic licence in crafting his stories of the New and the Old Kingdoms of the Painted Peoples, although there are kernels of historical truth at the heart of most of them. The frequent references to the Old Gods found in his work are used to dramatic effect to take the audience out of their own time, placing them in an age before the world had been traumatised by the two great existential cataclysms which have transformed it so radically in the intervening years.
