The Book of Ages

The Book of Ages is a early compendium of mythical and historical stories from Magicians' End, written by a number of even more ancient authors and assembled into a single volume by unknown editors in 7216 BPC, not long after the traumatic events of the Sundering.   It contains many styles of writing and it does not attempt to impose much in the way of editorial commentry, so it is very far from being a coherent history.

Background

When much of the world was suffering under the deep unnatural ice age of the Sundering, scholars in Ralsimoor, one of the less badly affected areas, saw that there was an urgent need to preserve the histories of the earlier ages. The Book of Ages was a simple attempt to collect and republish as much as could be salvaged from records in the Old and New Kingdoms. Some of these sources are mythical in tone, whilst others are more matter of fact but later historians are forever grateful to the unknown editors who surely prevented most of this material from being lost forever.
