Geography

Sometimes the land is so flat you can gaze out and see so far it feel like you can see the entire world
— Khururi hunter
Grass stretches out for hundreds of miles, broken up only by rocks poking up out of the soil and the occasional small rocky monuments or mounds made by the people of the plains. Along the larger rivers or in the far west of the region a few small villages and towns further break up this landscape.

Ecosystem Cycles

The grasslands experience the four seasons of spring, summer, fall, and winter. Summers tend to be quite hot and most small animals shelter underground. Winters are quite cold and snowy. Many animals grow much thicker coats of fur in the autumn and shed much of this fur in the spring.

Fauna & Flora

Hoofed animals of all sorts--oxen, horses, pronghorns, and more are especially common here. Smaller mammals like gophers, foxes, and marmots are also quite common. The region is known for having an especially large variety of large ground birds like grouses, turkeys, and quail. The areas many birds of prey often serve as symbols and hunting companions for the people who live here.

Natural Resources

The soil in the plains is quite rocky making farming difficult except along some rivers. The wide variety of grasses make excellent grazing ground for animals of all sorts. Most people of the plains are hunter gathers or herders. Many of these people have close relationships with animals using them in hunting and pulling loads. Rocks are abundant and are often used as markers.
