Khururi Carts

You know a tribe by its carts.
— Khururi saying
In their eternal migrations across the northern grasslands, the Khurur people carry their few possessions and tools with them in their highly decorated carts. The number, and more importantly decoration, of these carts serve to announce the splendor and glory of the tribe who they belong to. As they are so important, carts are heavily guarded and the business of stealing them is both highly lucrative and highly dangerous. One of the greatest honors to a tribe is to have another tribe's cart and thus successful cart thieves are some of the most respected members of their tribes. The Khururi make little distinction between other tribes' carts and merchant carts and will often steal merchant carts if they travel through a tribe's territory or if the tribe is raiding the Kih frontier. These thefts have long lead to bad blood between the two groups. This relationship is slowly improving though as more Khururis join the sovereignty looking for better opportunities.
It just seemed natural. I've stolen so many carts I already knew what to look out for.
— Khururi cavern guard and former cart thief

Decoration

Large eyes are painted along carts' thatched sides so that the carts themselves can never be taken by surprise. Painted handprints, hoofmarks, and curled talons are also popular designs. Hanging along the sides are decorative metalwork, cloth, strings of beads, and more. Skulls and other bones of defeated enemies or from successful hunts are particularly valued decorations. A small shrine is always part of the cart oftentimes a small statue of a deity or quasi-deity is secured to the top front of the cart.

Propulsion

Carts are normally pulled by oxen. Sometimes smaller carts are made which can be pulled by dogs or people. Horses are generally used for riding or pulling charriots but will sometimes be used for pulling carts.
