Nalgi's Code
With Nalgi and their code we'll surely win! Those snobby clans members don't stand a chance!
One of the reasons that Nalgi's Revolution has been so successful has been that it has been able to communicate effectively without detection or decoding. This is done through use of Nalgi's Code which looks like simple pictographs. These pictographs look like people recording mundane events and items which helps the code avoid detection. Only a few have memorized what each symbol actually means and from these pictographs they can learn of troop numbers, locations, plans of attack, and more. In addition to disguising the code, the pictographs enable any revolutionary with good eyesight and knowledge of what the pictographs mean can use the code. The code is usually written on shards of pottery, reeds, or other easy to find materials.
Writing System
All of the symbols that make up the code are simplified pictures of everyday items and animals. Animals and plants make up the vast majority of the pictograms with some common items also being part of the code.
Geographical Distribution
Nalgi's code is solely used in Kalo but due to its effectiveness many groups throughout the world are interested in duplicating it. To maintain the security of the code, revolutionists are very careful about who gets access to it. It's a privilege only afforded to high ranking members of the revolution.
Syntax
Wait is that a cow or a pig? Ugh. I'll need to rewrite this. At least it's more intelligible than written Kaloan. When describing troops first the type of troop is specified, followed by the number, their direction, and any relevant activities they are engaging in. Orders are given in the order in which they are to be completed. If both orders and troop movements are in the same message, orders are given first and troop movements second.
When revolutionary troop movements are part of the message they are typically given before clan troop movements as they are almost always linked to the orders given. Despite being very different from the Kaloan language, Nalgi's code is written in the same direction as it: top to bottom, left to right.
Vocabulary
Animal pictographs are used to represent different types of troops and plants pictographs are used to represent locations and general activities. Items such as pots, fish traps, baskets, and others are used to tell the scale of troops or to denote a specific location.
