Longsaddle's Blight

Plague / Epidemic

The farming hamlet of Longsaddle has been suffering from a blight, and the teams divinations point to the presence of Lucia in the area.
Coincidence?

Frustrated at the escape of Lucia, Erebus turns to his trusty scrying to locate her. He is unable to get a lock on her so they turn to Divination. As helpfull as divine riddles can be the team keyed in on cereal, and started to ask around about any irregularities in the wider food systems that feed the city. They hear bitching about the prices of grains going up because of a failed crop from Longsaddle, a village to the north that is one of the main growers in the area. Consulting a map they see the town does sit between rivers that go to both Waterdeep and Neverwinter. It fit.

  Traveling to longsaddle they noticed the blight as they approached the village. Talking to the farmers all mentioned how they gave offerings to Chauntea but the goddess of harvest seemed to have forsaken them. The team decides to go ask some questions to the local clergy, and head off to the small working farm that is the temple for the village. The temple's crops seem to be under the same blight. They introduce themselves to the head priestess Belldolphi, and her assistant Lavendera. They explain that they've not been able to descern the cause, and it's taken most of their magics to get anything to grow.

  The team doesn't quite trust the pair and decided to look into them a bit more. They ask around and while the townsfolk are more than happy to gush about Bell; how she's been using her magics to help keep them fed and healthy durring the blight, Lavendera was reletivly new and she comes and goes. Curiosity piqued, the team decided to sneak into the temples barn and perform a Circle Dance targeting Lucia. It points firmly at the temple. They decide to start asking more pointed questions. While the majority of the party go in the front door to start interegating, Erebus sneeks in the back and starts snooping around, finding a secret door in the bathroom leading to a staircase going down. KT taking the lead on questioning (interrogating) is told that Lavendera has left since they were here a few hours ago, off to get supplies and consult with one of the druid circles that are affiliated with the church. Not bying it KT pushes harder and Bell starts to defend herself and trying to hinder progress into the church. Erebus already being farther in the church closed in and once she was surrounded she surrendered.

  Inspecting her holy symbol, they find that hidden on the back of the grain and sickle was the three triangles for Asmodeus. They render her unconcious and tie her to the tree out side while they go down the stairs.
