The team enters Malar's Grove to end the reign of Gornach the Imortal

Malar's Grove is an idyllic mist filled forest, but on closer look there are vertical planes cut through the area with a jarring effect. In it's center was a crystal sphere that looked to contain the storm. The team enters slowly and is met by a talking direwolf happily gnawing on a shank who informs they they're all gonna die. From somewhere in the mist Gornach address them, elated they have proved themselves to this point and that Malar will reward him for his choice of prey. The direwolf and some treeants attack the party, but when they cross one of the planes they appear out of another one elsewhere in the grove.

This proved chaos as the crew was unable to hold any formation, as things seemed to follow both normal expected momentum and also hop from one area to another when they crossed the plane walls.

Gornach used the chaos and dropped from the trees as a direape, breaking Fenris' back. The party had to pull all the stops as he proved to be a formidable durid, and after several more close calls with death they prevailed. Druid and dog dispatched, the team find themselves trapped, as the portal had deactivated. The smashed the sphere freeing the aspects of Akadi and Istishia that had been trapped there. They reopened the portal allowing everyone to escape.
