Mithral sphere

The mithral sphere is a weapon used in the vortex that is a sphere made out of mithral with a person controlling a crystal that powers the sphere. The mithral sphere has ten cannons that stick out around the middle of the sphere. The mithral sphere cannons can be able to be drawn in to roll around. The mithral sphere can have a short little pedestal made out of mithral so it can stand. The sphere has a crystal of ice that powers the sphere it is also what makes the cannons shoot ice beams at its opponents. The weak spots of the mithral sphere are were the cannons are one blast at a cannon that is extended out can be easily destroyed and then there is a narrow place to shoot. The mithral sphere is also controlled by mages and the have been known to die in a battle but most don't die any more. They are know not used much because there is no wars between the countries. The only thing they are know used for is defending against evil dragons. The most recent time they were used was when a dragon and a kraken that were plotting to destroy the vortex . They sent out three dozen mithral spheres and a lot of soldiers to attack them. There plan was to have two mithral spheres at each exit and then the other mithrall spheres and soldiers would attack. The plan went fine intil they were about to leave they checked to make sure both were dead but the kraken lived. The kraken woke and some soldiers were surprised and fled then the rest charged. The mithral spheres attacked them the best they could but the kraken fled into the sea of unknown. Most of the soldiers and mages survived but the mithral spheres were utterly destroyed.
