Personal history

Max was born into abject poverty in Cape Town, South Africa. His mother, African, was a sex-trafficked slave, and his father, caucasian, was her only patron. His father paid for the exclusive use of his mother. Max was light skin enough to pass as fully caucasian and so his father, purchases him from his mother's owner at the age of 3 years old.   Max's father is ridiculously successful and wealthy. He owned a company that sold superyachts and was constantly in contact with the world's top 1%. Max's father comes up with some excuse to explain Max's sudden presence, but lack of a mother. Max grows up in a lap of luxury with the best nannies, personal tutors, food, housing, and clothing his father's money could afford, but nothing was ever good enough to settle the anger within him. Unbeknownst to his father, maybe willingly, Max's first 3 years of life were absolute hell. His mother's owner knew there were men out there who would be interested in personal time with a toddler and while they weren't his usual clients, their money was just as good. Max doesn't remember the exact events but he does remember the pain, the callousness of the men, and his mother's disgust with him. Max tries talking with his father about it but is ignored and told to never speak of it again.   At the age of 10, Max's father gets married to the heiress of some fancy company. He hates his stepmother and begins acting out violently, but his father ignores him and tells his new wife to do the same. Max's stepmother becomes pregnant very soon after the wedding which begins a deeper change with Max.   At the age of 11, Max begins committing acts of petty theft. He discovers he's very good at it, but not good enough not to get caught trying to make off with a golden watch. He's taken to jail, but his father pays over the authorities to erase the records. Once they get home, Max's father beats him for the first time. The belt buckle used on him hits him in the left eye, permanently damaging it, but he is still able to see out of it.   After the first beating, it takes the birth of Max's half-sister before he starts to act out again. He begins lifting phones off of tourists and reselling them at his school. When one of the students is caught by police with the stolen phone, because he forgot to factory reset the phone, he turns in Max when questioned. Max is once again taken to jail. This time, however, his father leaves him there for a few nights. His father does eventually bail him out and pays off the authorities again. Another beating proceeds, this time Max's stepmother bears witness but doesn't interfere. For all her niceties to him, she was not willing to put herself or her daughter's security on the line. He holds a deep grudge against her for this. Max runs away that night, packing a very insufficient bag, and taking his bike. He goes down to the beach where he camps out for three days before returning on the fourth morning. No one mentions anything about his disappearance and continues to pretend it never happened.   At the age of 16, Max's father begins speaking to him about going to university, but Max does not share his plans. Throughout the years, Max has gotten better with his thievery skills. He has now moved onto stealing high-end cars for a gang of criminals who call themselves the Elites. Because of his father, he has access to a lot of very wealthy people. He sells information on them and gives targets to the Elites on who to steal from.   At age 17, he decides to fully join them. He packs his things and moves into their rundown warehouse, a very far fall from the mansions he was used to living in, but in a way, it felt more familiar to him. Max is there for several months before his father tracks him down. His father has the authorities raid the warehouse and many of Max's friends are arrest for being in possession of stolen properties. Max however is once again let off without any legal punishment. Much like the first two times, Max's father begins to beat him, but this time Max has prepared for it. He stabs him with a hidden blade, in the following scuffle, Max's father smashes crystal decor plate into the left side of Max's face, causing further damage to the left eye. Max overpowers him and stabs him a few more times until he collapses. Then he retrieves a much larger knife from the kitchen and stabs him repeatedly, killing him. He then kills his stepmother who was asleep upstairs. Unfortunately for him, his half-sister was staying over at a friend's house.   He gets in touch with the friends who managed to escape the raid at the warehouse and tells them to meet him at his father's mansion. When they arrive he instructs them that they are either with him or against him. They decide they're with him and begin to loot the house. They're able to collect several chests full of jewelry, two safes containing millions of dollars in cash, and his father's cars. They sell the cars to a chop shop for cheap soon after leaving and steal new ones. They make their way to the ports and to the secret he had been telling them about for the months he had stayed with them. He had stolen an unreleased design and unregistered yacht from his father's company. He had been slowly remodeling the ship to be more practical for long-term use out on the ocean rather than for luxury.   Thus began his pirating career.
