Orcs

Written by Mystic.m

Description

Savage and fearless, orc tribes are ever in search of elves, dwarves, and humans to destroy. Motivated by their hatred of the civilized races of the world and their need to satisfy the demands of their deities, the orcs know that if they fight well, they bring glory to their tribe. Most Orc tribes are found within the Border Kingdoms but can be found within the more rural areas of Thuria.   Orcs had poor temperaments and were given to anger more easily than some races. Easily offended and impatient, orcs generally preferred violent solutions and rarely considered multiple ways of approaching a problem. However, in spite of this many orcs were excellent at getting results, since they were creatures of action, not thought. Some exceptions to this profile did exist, however, such as the famed King Obould whose deeds were accomplished through planning and insight.

Subraces

Grey Orc

The grey orcs are more civilized than others of their kind, which shows in both their features and their clothing choices. Their faces appear less bestial and porcine, even though they retain their tusks. Their hair is often black or grey, while their eyes range from yellow to orange, and red. They are a nomadic people, with their small tribes often traveling between camps and cave sites, and they speak a more complex variant of orcish.

Mountain Orc

A subrace of orc that resides in the northern mountain ranges, mountain orcs carry the basic features of their race, but typically have black hair and dark red eyes that are well adapted to the dark.

Orog

Descended from mountain orcs that retreated into the Underdark when cornered by enemy armies, the Orog bred in great numbers and adapted to life in the cruel darkness. They resemble those that they descended from but stand slightly taller with larger ears and large, pale eyes that can see in the dark, but experience difficulty in the light.
When creating an Orc, their alignment falls within Lawful Neutral to Chaotic Evil. We encourage players wishing to break alignment arcs to journal their characters' experiences that lead up to it.

Character Build

Orcs varied in appearance, based on region and subrace, but all shared certain physical qualities. Orcs of all kinds usually had grayish skin, coarse hair, stooped postures, low foreheads, large muscular bodies, and porcine faces that featured lower canines that resembled boar tusks. Many also had wolf-like ears that were pointed on the ends, similar to elves. Orcs were roughly the same size as humans and other similar humanoids, though usually robust and muscular.   Height Minimum: 200cm(6'5")
Height Maximum: 250cm(8'2")
