The Dragonsong War began in 1578, and lasted 13 years.

The Metallic Dragons announced the war on behalf of all dragon kind.   The war ends cataclysmically in 1592, changing the world forever.

The Dragonsong war began in 1578. I suppose you could argue it began decades prior, with the slaughtering of farmers, and farm animals by the dsragons, and the hunting of Dragons for sport, by mortals. But in 1578, the Metallic Dragons made their official declaration of war, on the mortal races. The combined weight of the Metallic, Chromatic, and Gem dragons fell down upon the mortal races with such force that the entire world shook, so say the bards.
