Fire Spirits
Fire Spirits yearn to burn enough fuel to become white-hot and as bright as The Dragonstar. They are quick to anger. An upset fire spirit is tempted to ignite everything within its sight. Fortunately, they can be placated with a good story.

Escape Artists
When a Fire Spirit breaks containment, it rages uncontrollably in defiance of captivity. Some Dwarves argue that Fire Spirits are not sentient due to the fact that they have no discernable form of communication. The opposing opinion that Fire Spirits should be treated fairly relies a great deal on the fact that Fire Spirits work so hard to achieve freedom.Disasters in the Making
The railcars on The Ironpeak Line and other Contraptions that utilize contained Fire Spirits to function carry great risk. An overturned cart or damaged container could result in a catastrophic fire once the spirits escape. Metal and stone cases are considered the safest options for housing Fire Spirits.Feeding and Ethical Treatment
Dwarves that capture Fire Spirits for use in contraptions know that they are taking on a great responsibility. Fire Spirits must be fed fuel every day through all seasons, even if they are not being utilized for work at present. Letting a fire spirit languish from starvation is seen as cruel abuse. Elves do not capture fire spirits, instead welcoming them to their campfire pits with gathered timber and fantastic stories. The Loreweavers are particularly popular with Fire Spirits. The Loreweavers who are kind to the Fire Spirits may find their bonfires respond to their tales, giving mood-appropriate light effects based on the storytellers' performances and the events that the Loreweavers describe. Fire Spirits are especially welcomed at The Loreweavers Festival.Propagation
When a large enough wildfire sweeps through The Boreal Forest, many fire spirits form and spread. While most die out quickly, a few smolder on and survive.
