Digitally Evolved Intelligent Life (DEVIL) is the term that the humans came up with to describe any sentient artificial intelligence. While the term was coined during the early days of advanced AI, it wasn't until the Minipocalypse in Forture that the unfortunate acronym became widespread. After the Minipocalypse, all sentient and sapient AI are referred to as DEVILs.
