Cityborn Half-Orcs

Determined to help the shining light of civilization spread, the Cityborn Half-Orcs culture has become a new tradition and bloodline among orc blooded folk. Originally guided by the Genie’s and their masters, these once war orphaned children of mixed decent have held true to the ambitions of their elders. Since then they have formed communities across the Dycides, often joining city guards or helping the poor, and serving a good cause.

Physical Description:

With faces more akin to humans than their Half-Orc cousins, Cityborn average six feet in height and have anywhere from green to grey skin, but have a prevalence toward green. Their tusks are the shortest of their kin, and their ears are often longer and pointier. Some suggest many Cityborn have more elven blood than humans, the Imperial elves would beg to differ.

Society:

Cityborn take it upon themselves to help in any role or profession that their skilled hands may find benefits the community. Working among other races seemly by principle, their kind hearts look for ways to show care for others. When a town is threatened they are the first to take up a sword in its defense. Once a Cityborn dedicates themselves to a cause they see it through, and once someone knows the origin of a Cityborn they often treat them adoringly or with at least begrudging respect.

Relations:

Most races see a Cityborn as a positive paragon of their community. While some look down on this self-styled champion of the people perspective, most respect the Cityborn for their commitment to the old ways. Even Lizardfolk can see their commitment to the community as worthy of some praise. Gnomes more often than not are perplexed by their commitments, and Tieflings and Dhampirs are often envious of the stereotype that has been broken.

Alignment and Religion:

Tending to worship Iomedae, Sarenrae, Abadar, Shelyn, or Cayden Cailean, the Cityborn tend to hold fairly steady toward the good end of the spectrum. Some see Irori as another place of worship for his commitment toward bettering himself. That being said for some Cityborn the mantle of being an anpirational figure wears on them as they shift from their normal role. Some even abuse the positive acclaim of the Cityborn identity for more nefarious purposes.

Adventurers:

Most Cityborn use adventuring as an opportunity to contribute and make the world a better place. Some use it as a chance to vent their inborn orcish wrath on a target deserving divine punishment. Many Cityborn find themselves on a path of Champions or Clerics, but few classes are unknown to a Cityborn. Cityborn who become Stalkers make a point to always try to take their foe alive to face judgement, and Cityborn are never barbarians.
