Dhampirs

Resurrections are difficult, tricky spells that require the complete attention of the caster. When resurrection spells go awry by the inexperienced or desperate, or forms of resurrections are tested, or the tethers of death and life were tangled the result can be the creation of a Bloodstained. Living between life and death their form rots and damage can be healed with energy from the negative plane. The Bloodstained are often assumed mindless dead but are a soul returned from death and wish to have dignity rather than the hatred that often comes with their “becoming.”
On the other end of the spectrum, when children are born on the continent, due to the mysterious virus named the Stillplague, children born have a chance to manifest an X on their foreheads. As they begin to grow their growth stops in their adolescence, their skin pales and they are infused with necrotic magic. Though appearing mostly normal, these people cruelly called Dead Born, might be immortals as none has died of old age yet. They can however die a multitude of other ways, mostly caused by ignorance and fear. Many are trying desperately to find a cure, but most Dead Born fear being tested upon to discover it, seeking only a life that some believe has been denied them.
While the formation of True Dhampirs as always been the same, the birth of a woman and a vampire, they are taking up the mantle to be leaders among this new group of partially dead, showing them they can exist in civil society of that society will spare them death for how they were born or returned.
