Half Elves

Half-Elves are well loved members of most social circles. They bridge the gap of being both long lived and inherit a human’s zest for activity and progress. Whether the very common vivacious Free Spirits, the more uncommon and reserved Half-Ajarans, or the rare and paranoid Banished, each can find it’s way integrating into nearly all communities with ease.   The Free Spirit Elves tie their ancestry to the Freebooters and the Dycides humans, but consider themselves a people all their own. They often find themselves in the middle of conflicts and find ways to smooth them over. Lacking the sheer catlike nimble nature of the Freebooters and or the rigorous skill base of the native humans, Free Spirits are known for their true love of the ocean, and their ability to find ways to be endearing even after a mistake has been made.   After the recent metamorphosis in the jungles of Ajara, Half-Ajarans have for the first time been given the option to live freely among the mother jungle. Many Half-Ajarans are experiencing the great jungle and acclimated to their culture, long taken from them. Children of two lands, Half-Ajarans have learned to cope with both jungle and city, and take roles in both at ease. Seeing themselves as emissaries for their more primitive families they argue for nature being preserved over the slow urban crawl expanding across the Dycides.   Finally, the hard truth is there are some half-elves born with a bounty on their head. According to the Kingdom of the White Flowers, Half-Imperial Elves do not exist, because no Imperial Elf would bed an animal. Out among the rest of the Dycides, some Imperial Elves are given rank in back home to walk in secret, ensuring the truth by killing any “mistakes” that exist. Those half-imperial elves that do exist are colloquially called, the Banished for they will never have a home other than beyond their homeland. Growing up in isolation and distrustful of all elves, they simply imitate other half elves while at their core resenting their elven ancestry.
