Lizardfolk Tracker

Lizardfolk born with a propensity to move quickly or show analytical skill are raised to become Trackers. Taking to the wilds or urban setting those who learn their skills as Trackers are uncanny in their ability to hunt prey, whether it is for food or bounty. There is an old saying in Ethium, “If a Tracker follows, the chase is over,” and the modern Tracker lives up to that reputation.

Physical Description:

Trackers are some of the tallest lizardfolk, with a propensity to reach between 7 to 7 and a half feet tall, but they lack the robustness of other members of the tribes, usually weighing between 150 and 200 pounds. This gives them a spindly appearance compared to their kin. Their scales are usually smaller and their overall skull shape is longer and pointier than most.

Society:

Trackers are viewed as the hunters of their tribe, though they might not take down the largest prey, their role amongst the lizard tribes has allowed them to adapt to the new lands they have been introduced to. Tireless to preserve their status in their clan, failing to find their quarry is treated as a great dishonor and can result in exile from a community.

Relations:

Trackers interacting with society find it much more complicated and taxing to deal with. Most races treat lizardfolk in general as unintelligent and Trackers often use that camouflage to their advantage. They find few races as friends outside of their own, and view the Grippli’s integration into Dycides communities as diminishing their blood. They tend to find understanding with those if Ajarian for their connection to their land or those among orcish bloodlines that feel more isolated in the city environment. The strangest relationship is with Halflings, especially Halfling Wayfinders, whose views on nature often click though in appearance couldn’t look less alike.

Alignment and Religion:

Trackers have nothing that unites them in terms of alignment, and tend to simply align according to their education in the tribe to develop their perspective. While most lizardfolk worship their ancestors and pray toward Old Tiamat and Apsu, Trackers who have been more exposed to the Gods of the Dycides look most toward Erastil, Gozreh, and Norgorber as inspiration.

Adventurers:

While serving the good of the tribe is ingrained in all the children of lizardfolk, some balk that traditional constraint. Though not known for social awareness, Trackers find their specific skills incredibly useful in both the Red Market and other adventuring outfits. They often fulfill themselves as Rangers, Rogues, Slayers or Druids taking their hunts to the next level.
