Pain Weaver Half-Orcs

Born bastards of two worlds, those whose ancestry is of the Pain Weaver Half-Orcs are met with scorn or outright violence. Often honed among orcish tribes, their brutal traditions and cruelty can make Lizardfolk nervous at times to provoke them. Those that break away from their tribes still enact brutal self-flagellation to hold to their discipline that their tribe has instilled in their minds, so that no pain can stop a Pain Weaver.

Physical Description:

Brutal and often strong, the orcish traits are exemplified giving them a brutal look. Though not as large as the Lizardfolk, they tend to be the bulkiest of their kin. Some that specialize in stealth might be slighter but the average Pain Weaver usually is over 230 pounds. Their tusks are often longer but they lack the muscle strength in their jaws to gore an enemy.

Society:

Most Pain Weavers learn the brutal tradition when they are young, never to let your guard down and to never let an enemy leave the battlefield alive. Those Pain Weavers that do leave the tribal life, find their place in the role of killers for hire, and their reputation follows them. They have difficulty interacting with society as a whole, but their attitude of fending for oneself help them adapt to scorn.

Relations:

Hated by most civilized races, they return the sentiment in return. Those that do offer them a foothold often find they have made a powerful friend at the cost to their own reputation. Though the occasional sentiment like, “I would kill you first so you didn’t have to watch the rest suffer,” are meant as a positive, most take it poorly. Truly one needs a Pain Weaver to common dictionary to determine the meaning of much of their dry, calloused humor.

Alignment and Religion:

Though traditionally the Pain Weaver orcs revere Rovagug, those Half-Orcs that break from the tribe are as likely to worship either Gorum or Tiamat. Those that find their way toward Gorum often attempt to join the legion of Atholia or the growing army of Kervosh. Worshippers of Tiamat can be found integrating with lizardfolk, and can be their staunchest allies. The cruel nature taught and bred into them often begets a world of attack or be attacked, and evil for evil’s sake. Others are simply looking for a quiet life, and try to leave the world of their upbringing behind.

Adventurers:

Pain Weavers who leave their tribe are either exiled for cowardice, run to avoid a failure, or are the last of a raiding party, and therefore cannot return home without complete dishonor and decapitation. Regardless there is no welcome at home and they are cast out into a world that sees them as a hated enemy but are “too weak” to kill him or her on sight. They gravitate toward adventuring, because murdering a people is generally frowned upon. Tending toward Barbarianism or Stalkers for the red market, they are often reprimanded but not fired for “playing with” their targets after taking them down.
