Cornearem

Cornearems are a recent species, only appearing around five hundred years ago. These peoples are similar to humans, but can have pointed ears and ram horns, plus the occasional navy or green hair.   These peoples live in any taiga forest that they can find, meaning the North Westerns, Frost Kingdom, the Cape of the North, and more. They typically live deep in the forest, making it a rare occurence for a Human to see one, but it can happen. They occasionally venture into Human society, usually to buy food during times of hunger. They also use Frost Kingdom language, although a heavily derived form of it.
Their internal body structure is nearly the same as Humans, but for unknown reasons, their bones are a blackish, grey color. Some have drawn the connection to their horns, but nothing can be confirmed. They also typically have less Mana than a Human.   Their culture is typically centered around war and fighting. the Men's horns are pointed, so this is natural. Women also fight, however, although much less than the men.   They typically have a nice, organized society. Their religion plays a central role, many people are burned as heretics, even in small villages. They also have a minor institution of slavery, being the children of those who fell into crushing debt, and their descendants. Many suffer because of this, but it is of great profit to the tribe leaders.   These people are typically nice to Humans, but can be dangerous. The best thing to do if you see one is walk away, but you can talk to it if you feel confident (very confident) in your combat skills. It is unknown what makes their behavior differ, but it likely has something to do with religion.

Basic Information

Growth Rate & Stages

These creatures age a little faster than Humans, as evidenced by their Mana being somewhat lower. This is rarely noticeable. For example, a Human child might reach puberty at 14, whilst a Cornearem child might reach puberty at 12.

Ecology and Habitats

These people typically live in anywhere where there are conifer trees.

Dietary Needs and Habits

These people eat mainly meat, but farm on the side, too.

Additional Information

Facial characteristics

A noted characteristic on some Cornearems, a small, barely noticeable line of lizard-like scales

Average Intelligence

~90 IQ, over the average, but not as smart as Humanity.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

These creatures' horns have feeling, but cannot feel pain. Very handy in combat situations.

Civilization and Culture

Beauty Ideals

A stealthier man is a more attractive man. Women find it incredibly attractive to be snuck up upon. This is likely because any other race can overpower them with their numbers, if not combat skills. the stealthy man can kill quite a few and get away with it.

Average Technological Level

They take technology and get inspired from Humans often, so it rapidly progresses.

Major Language Groups and Dialects

Most groups have a Frost-adjacent language, so Cornish can be understood by a native or fluent Frost speaker, and vice versa. This makes the communities in the Westerns, Frost Kingdom (especially) and the Cape of the North very cooperative and friendly with Humans.

Common Etiquette Rules

Bowing to a Cornearem is an invitation to a fight. Whilst if you bow to one in Human society, they would understand, but a normal Cornearem will charge at you if you bow to them.

Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals

They have many religious festivals, especially one about the frost deity, where they honor Gogosqweze and his supposed 'mother'. Gogosqweze occasionally visits, although he disclaims his divinity every time. They ignore him, typically.

History

They originated from the Frost Kingdom, just east of Liask. You can still find the largest Cornearem city there, known as Taurus to us Humans, Byrsterr (Land of Birth) to Cornearems. It's unknown how Taurus got it's Human name, but it was likely because of the horns that the Cornearems are similar to a Bull's.    They quickly developed their society and religion, with the help of kind Humans that saw the settlement. Gogosqweze at one point saved them from a group of Wraiths that were close to killing the entire tribe which caused them to deify him as the son of their ice godess, Srynalis, and making Srynalis their patron godess.
By migrating using Human ships, they managed to find and settle several places that looked similar to home, such as the Cape of the North (who happily found that it was part of the Frost Kingdom too), the mountain forests in the Northern Westerns, the mountainous taiga in Kerb (the south and north borders of Kerb, lined by mountains), the Isles of Ethers, and many more, less significant places.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

They have a good relationship with Humans, although can occasionally be aggressive. It depends on the Cornearem, typically, but most will just smile and wave, or greet you. Many a man have found a good wife or a good friend whilst hunting in a taiga.   For Elves, Dryads, and Aurises, they don't typically have much interaction. Dryads probably have the most, and they typically ignore them, as they do not take up too much land and are supported by Humans. Aurises typically fight with them if they encounter them, but it has only happened a few times, and on small scales.
