Nasculon Fungus

Nasculon Fungi are strange creatures. These are not even animal creatures, not ones of flesh and blood. Instead, they are an amalgamation of several different types of fungus cells that merge to create a large, more sentient being. These consist of Brain Fungus, Eye Fungus, Skin Fungus, Resistance Fungus, Absorption Fungus, Glow Fungus, and Spring Fungus.    The Brain Fungus acts similar to Human nerves. They control the Spring Fungi, which act as the muscles. Skin Fungus is the standard skin of the creature, located on the belly and thighs. Resistance Fungus is found on the places that get hit the most. These parts are quite hard, and if you punch a Nasculon Fungi on one of these spots, expect a bruised knuckle, that is, if your wrist isn't broken. These spots include the calves, a large part of the back, and some of the head, and most notably, most of the fingers and knuckles.    The Eye Fungus forms the large eye of the creature, and the Glow Fungus emits the glowing appearance that it emits. It is likely a form of disguise from the many predators of the Nasculon Caves. Finally, the Absorption Fungus is the main energy transporter and gatherer. They reside mainly on the feet and palms of the creatures. These can expand and plant roots, as well as absorb the nutrients, hence the name. They also work as energy transport inside. These parts are watery and juicy, as they also absorb water. When one cuts into one of these creatures, the liquid inside will often spill out like blood. This gives the illusion that they bleed, despite the fact it's merely water.    These creatures, anatomically, look like men with mushroom hats and one large blue glowing eyeball. Not too much else to it. These creatures don't wear clothes, but also have no reproductive organs, so there isn't much need to. They slowly walk about the Nasculon Caves to detect where nutrient filled rocks or soil is near. After a time of not being able to find good rock, they chip away at the rock to reveal more nutrient filled rocks.    Sometimes these creatures find ores, like iron. They take these, once they have their fill of nutrients, and begin to sculpt it. Using bits of mushroom, or sometimes magma that has found it's way to the surface of the cave, they smelt it, and using their Resistance Fungus covered body parts, they use their hands to shape it, as well as rocks, metal hammers (although the exact metal is unknown), and an anvil, they mold it, and let it cool naturally. This can take days, and Nasculon often feed whilst working, too, planting themselves in the ground. As they finish the tool, weapon, ornament, bauble, or otherwise, they put it on display for the others to see and marvel at.
Some Nasculon Fungi take those pieces, and begin to alter it. Using the same methods, and implanting magical gems, they make greater, more beautiful, and more magically capacity weaponry and tools, whilst somehow remaining the extremely high quality that was made in the first place.    These are the pride of the Nasculon people, and after hundreds of hours of adorning, smithing, and reforging, these swords are some of the greatest weapons to ever be found. They have no equal in Human smithies, in Elf smithies, nor in any other smithies. They fetch quite a price, typically gold, which is then exchanged for more exotic metals located in other places.    These creatures believe in a pantheon of gods, all fighting for each cavern's supremacy. For example, the god of Gorucks Cavern helps the Fungi of that cavern in taking over Yidleplak Cavern. They each, in the eyes of the people, demand only the best weaponry and tools for their people. The Nasculon follow this religiously.    These creatures are mainly masculin shaped to Humans, so are called males in Human language, but Nasculon language lacks any sex-based language, as they have no sex.

Basic Information

These creatures release spores to reproduce. This is completely asexual.

Ecology and Habitats

These creatures live in the Nasculon Caverns.

Dietary Needs and Habits

These creatures absorb the nutrients in the calcified meat of the fossils and the soil that happens to be there.

Behaviour

These creatures are simple, but complex. Humans fail to comprehend the ways of these creatures.
