Wraiths

Wraiths are the secondmost common undead creatures in the Earthion. They are black, gaseous, floating creatures, sometimes transparent, but other times are too thick to see through. Thankfully, they are easily defeated by a few sword swings, or at least the first few variants.    Wraiths are also the most diverse (Not counting the different armors in Armors, since they have the same behavior) undead being, too, having many stages of progression. The first and most common is the read eyed variant: the standard Wraith.
COMMON WRAITH These are quite simple enemies to encounter. They float around, charging at you and hurting you if you get into the gases, having it been described as a burning feeling.    These creatures can easily be dispatched with a bit of swinging your sword through them, but they are not to be underestimated. Like Armors, these will not come near light, choosing to avoid it in almost all circumstances.   These creatures, unlike Armors, can drop certain gears and tools, especially magic materials, and occasionally, a staff that has been collectively dubbed as 'The Wraith Staff'.    This 'Wraith Staff' is a staff with a red crystal at the end, and black wood melded into it. This is extremely rare, so few know about this, but it does in fact occur, this is true. The Wraith Staff itself isn't a particularly strong staff, but it channels Manna well enough for all types of magic.
Tortured Wraith Tortured Wraiths are the second form and rarer variant of a common Wraith. These are aptly named 'tortured' as most of their existence is thought to be torment.   The main difference between this one and the last one is the striking yellow eyes and the larger size. It doesn't burn particularly worse than the common Wraith, but it is certainly harder to escape than the last one.   Although this can be dispatched with enough effort, and most experienced travelers can fight one off, it is still incredibly dangerous and should be regarded as such. Many cocky teenagers have met their end attempting to brave such a monster.   They can be preemptively warded away with a campfire or light source of sufficient size, but some ignore this if the people around the camp are making too much noise.
Reaper Wraiths Technically still a Tortured Wraith, these Wraiths earn their own category with only the eye color being a significant difference.    Reaper Wraiths are a form of Wraith with a purple tinted hue and purple eyes. They have no size difference nor intensity difference between Tortured Wraiths. The main difference lies in Death.   Death occasionally recruits Tortured Wraiths as elite soldiers in his army. They serve as a tank among the Skeletites, the smaller, infantrymen of his army.    These Wraiths are equipped with a legendary black and purple scythe, that they use without contact to their physical body.    These Wraiths typically leave the service of Death after they become the next variant, however.
Horrendous Wraith This Wraith, unlike it's previous brethren, have not only an increase in size and change in color of eyes, but also have a dangerous increase in pain inflicted.   These Horrendous Wraiths are incredibly large, larger than great manors and small castles. Their eyes are a sickening green color, one that doesn't resemble the pure green of the plants but it is one that resembles evil, in a twisted, gruesome way.    These Wraiths hurt extremely badly to the touch. It burns off a layer of skin within moments of coming in contact. However, this one is incredibly slow, and is easy to run from. However, many head to villages and sit on them, either killing them in their sleep or starving them by waiting on their grain supply.    This doesn't always work out in their favor, though, as large Wraiths attract large armies, especially ones this large. Typically either groups of mages, armies of levies, or contingents of trained soldiers can deal with one of these fairly easily, and with few casualties. Wraiths must remain like this for almost a century before changing into one of their final forms.
Wraith Lords Wraith Lords, or Wraith 'gods' as some primitive societies and races called it, are the largest form of Wraith known to this day (With one exception explained later). These have the same burning intensity of the Horrendous Wraith, but with an absurdly large body.    These creatures also have orange eyes, making their eerie, looming presence only worse. Many compare them to a sandstorm or duststorm looming over the horizon, with a piercing gaze looking on.    These are extremely rare, happening less often than three lifetimes. These are theorized to be the Horrendous Wraiths that have gotten the most souls, hence their large size. These are typically dealt with by extremely powerful mages or large, elite armies.
Eater Wraiths Eater Wraiths, or Biter Wraiths, as they are sometimes called, are what happens when a Horrendous Wraith ages enough to become a final form, but has not had enough to eat. To fix this, it gets a sharp toothed mouth, and an intense gas inside of it's mouth that can burn through the skin of a man within seconds. It is extremely fast, aggressive, and ignores any damage.   It's grey eyes pierce through the night more than any others. It flies extremely fast, and is the most savage of Wraiths.    These creatures sometimes drop their teeth, which are very valuable and sometimes used as swords, axes, polearms, etc, but must be carved before use as they are as large as the average Human.
Wailing Wraiths These final tier Wraiths are the 'biggest' Wraiths, although this is an illusion. Wailing Wraiths have blue eyes, flat gaseous body, and high flying. They float about and rain mildly painful acid rain at high altitudes.    These raindrops can kill, however. after a while of raining painful droplets, the skin starts to peel. This can be exceptionally dangerous in plains, but hiding under a tree can usually get you through it without any serious injuries.   These are typically seen as a mild natural disaster, like how a small earthquake or small tornado is seen. It won't damage much, but it can be dangerous. If you see one, see shelter, and if desperate, put a cloth over you as it passes by. These can be dealt with by mages with wings or who have a lot of knowledge of Cumulo magic. They typically accept their death with little resistance, hinting at the suspected origins.    Most accept that Wailing Wraiths are the souls of terribly sad, abused souls that have ended up as Wraiths. This is all theoretical, of course, as no one has any way to confirm that this is the case.
