Ardent Jagare is a Human Augmented-Commando. Ardent was once dedicated to the Lucid Vanguard but now is a vagabond and is committed to no one else but himself. His mother Odessa introduced him to the beliefs of The Ecclesia.
Odessa, a strong cleric, belonged to the powerful Lucid High Family. His father, Rojan, was a Vanguard of Krieg. Their relationship was kept from the Lucid High Family. In a dream, Odessa was given the warning that the son she was carrying, Ardent, would not live past the age of twenty. In her desperation she begged her family for help but only to be dismissed. Her only hope laid in The Agents of the Firing Blade. The Agents were willing to alter the child's fate only if Odessa returned the child back to Agents by his sixth birthday. The Agents alter Ardent's gene into a Augment- human Commando Due to their skills. Augmented-Commando Humans are often used as Mercenaries for many nations and are distrusted by commoners.. The child was born healthy and strong. Odessa treasured every moment with her child while Rojan was hardly present. With a heavy heart she fulfilled her promise and on his 6th birthday she gave him to Agent Jessimon. As he grew, Ardent was drawn to the sect of Clerics and Paladin of the Agents of the Firing Blade but due to his talent for armed combat and military tactics he was redirected to the sect of Vanguards. Both groups are equal in importance but very different in their functions. When the Ethereal War began, Ardent fought with The Lucid Army under a skilled vanguard group. Due to dishonor the Vanguard were forced to disband. To continue his efforts in the war, he joined The Vanishing Son's mercenary group of the Unified Districts. After the Ethereal War, Ardent traveled with his fellow comrade and best friend Casey. The VS have become fond of Ardent's skills and he continued to pick up odd assignments for he believed their missions to be just. Ardent is informed that the crew will dock at a port city Lymore and someone has information about his missing mother, Odessa.
