Classes of Skyrim

These are the classes of Skyrim, they are based on the classes of fifth edition but have key differences. Click on the links to read the full articles for each class.

Sign of the Mage

Those Classes under the Sign of the Mage are focused on mastering the arcane arts to thier advantage, in battle and elsewhere. Those in these classes are usually treated with distrust in Skyrim society, with the notable excaption of those who use magic for the purpose of healing. Otherwise the arcane arts are usually tolerated for thier practical nessesity, however necromancy is almost never tolerated in any form. The Classes under this sign are:   Wizard the most versitle class of mages, Wizards use intelligence to explore magic across multiple schools to achieve thier aims.   Sorcerer imued with a wild form of magic for ethier birth or some deadric pact, these mages have a requation for chaos and evil, however some may simply be missunderstood.   Cleric the most revered of the mage Classes in Skyrim's wider society, Clerics usually dedicate themselves to healing, curing disease and keeping the lands multitudes of dead safely contained within thier crypts.   Bard this class has a dividing reputation in Skyrim, as the Bard's college in Solitude is held in high regard by the upper classes, skalds too are often treated with the upmost respect. However the average bards, somewhat earned, reputation for softeness and attempting to bed anything on two legs leaves a sour taste in the mouths of many of Skyrim's dezidens.   Druid the mostly mysterious class of mages, Druid's draw their power from commuion with nature. Most also dedicated to its protection and maintenence, these mages are little known in Skyrim but are there all the same. Quietly guarding the sanctuaries of nature.

Sign of the Warrior

Those Classes under the Sign of the Warrior are focused on using melee weapons and armour in close combat to dispatch thier foes. These are the most respected Classes in Skyrim's culture. The Classes under the sign are:   Fighter the most versitile class under this sign, fighters can make use of a vast varitey of weapons and armour in pursuit of thier aims, they are the well respected staple of Skyrim's culture. A hardy supply of fighters is a nessesity for settlements to survive and thrive in these harsh lands.   Barbarian without a doubt the most well respected class in the land, barbarians fierce reputaion for charging fearlessly into danger makes them reveared in the inns and drinking halls of Skyrim. With songs of the great barbarians of old sang nightly over a flagon of warm mead. However, the little known and even less discussed potential for these warriors to succumb to lycanthropy tends to send a shiver down the spines of most.   Paladin a somewhat overlooked Class in the eyes of Skyrim society, paladins, usually serving in orders like the Vigil of Stendarr or the Dawnguard work diligently to defend the land regardless. Rooting out the evil and corruption of deadra worshipers, warewolves, vampires and necromancers. However the lack of regard, or even ignorance they're treated with matters little to these brave warriors.   Monk A class treated with a cautious reverence by the people of the land, paticularly those orders, such as the Greybeards, skilled in the Way of the Voice. The peoples of Skyrim understand those who follow these traditions as powerful and enigmatic. Though some among them have grown to resent the Monks outright refusal to involve themselves with the political upheaval Skyrim faces.

Sign of the Thief

Those in Classes under the Sign of the Thief, are usually focused on slteath and ranged attacks. While not nessasarily evil aligned by any means, those in Classes under this sign tend towards lives outside the 'respectable' bounds of Skyrim society. The Classes under this sign are:   Rogue the class most associated with the the Sign of the Thief, those in this class use stealth, cunning and trickery to achieve thier aims. Usually doing so well outside the laws of the land.   Ranger the most common class under the Sign of the Thief you're likely to encounter in the lands of Skyrim and elsewhere in Tamriel, those in this class focus on using martial means to take down their foes from afar. Often earning them respect from all but the most puritanical of Skyrim society, as the years of training and unquestionable effectiveness of thier methods make them an essential part of many warrior bands.   Artificer This class too, has a dividing reputation in Skyrim. While almost every settlement in the land boasts a potion shop, run by a skilled artificer whose healing elixirs and cures are welcomed in such a dangerous land. Other uses of this skillset are generally frowned upon, most paticularly the use of poisons in battle.   Warlock certainly the class with the most controvertial repuatation, Warlocks covort with deadra to gain magical abilites in the form of boons, a dangerous prospect when undertaken with even the best of intentions. A recipie for disaster when undertaken without.
