Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin (a.k.a. Phykrum Aesh)

Rasputin was a prominent scholar on the Nether and was lauded as a holy man, despite the source of his power. He believed that knowledge and discipline were crucial in wielding the element. He also had the mystic background to implement these ideals correctly and become the first to competently use Nether. His power was so impressive that he was able to influence Russian officials and garner countrywide attention. He healed Alexi Tsarevich of hemophilia, was thought to have helped pave the way of Russia's initial victories in World War I and even astounded the religious leaders in Russia.

His true power was revealed when his popularity declined and he was accosted by assassins. His body withstood potent poisons, gunshots, bludgeoning and burning while clinging to life in an attempt to kill his offenders. Unfortunately, his body was still mortal and he finally succumbed to drowning. As Phykrum Aesh, he is a chimera -- head of a lion, the upper body of a human and the lower body of an anaconda. Along with his bestial physical prowess, he can project beams, create constructs and induce healing through the Nether.
