Ambush at the Warehouse!

Criminal Activity

The APD is ambushed at a warehouse in Apollo City, leading to deaths of a neckbeard gang and the deaths of multiple APD officers.

During the chaos of the bank heist that transpired, some documentation and other incriminating evidence went missing from safe deposit boxes within the bank. The belief was that the bank robbers themselves are responsible. However, it was a different group entirely taking advantage of the situation. Because of the nature of this incriminating evidence that could damage the reputations of public figures and influential citizens, increased pressure was being placed on the APD.   This pressure caused them to jump on the first major lead to the robber's whereabouts, drawing the APD to raid a warehouse at the docks. The people inside appeared to surrender, but were actually using the surrender to let themselves get close enough to set off suicide vests, an opening to an ambush of the APD. The on-site commander, an entire squad of 10 Black Shields, and six Red and White shields were killed in the initial attack.   Another squad of Black Shields, supported by Red and White shields, were waiting in the back of the warehouse for their part in the raid. The highest ranking officer still alive was one Arthur 'Ajax' Jackson, a new arrival who had been proving his worth in the field. He commanded the raid, closely followed by a Watchdog team that arrived on the scene. Immediately upon entering, the APD forces were hit with gunfire from both sides and several casualties were taken by the team in the back, including from traps placed along the crates in the warehouse.   Four APD Black Shields were then left in the back, pushing forward with members of the Watchdogs. Additionally, Gwen was fighting a frog creature in the catwalks above, distracted to keep the web-slinger from aiding the APD and Watchdog forces. The raid forces went down into the lower level of the warehouse and were met with additional resistance. However, throughout this, they were able to capture a few of the terrorists.   Unfortunately, before they could reach the terrorist leader "Henry", he activated a mech and fleed the area, setting off the remaining explosive traps and demolishing the warehouse. The evidence is gone, all the APD had to show for the event were extensive casualties.   The APD was unable to identify their attackers, with only two survivors of the criminal group escaping including the frog creature. This group, known as WebWorks, is an underground hacking group with terroristic motives. Though their motivations and purpose is unknown, Henry has a deep infatuation for Snowy and a seething hatred for Lupe Antumbra.
