Life, Identity
Sinister Maharana's alternate personality, Hybris Penumbra, emerges and immediately wreaks havoc across the Archipelago.
The tables had finally turned against Sinister, despite his success in recruiting various cultists for his dark regime. The heroes were winning, his identity was slowly being revealed, his weaknesses were public knowledge and his psyche was near shattering. A month after Tetsuo's death and the temporary destruction of the moon, Sinister entered The Masters Dojo, starting to have hallucinogenic visions about different parts of himself he had never encountered before --- Lupe Antumbra, Alastor Umbra and Hybris Penumbra. Sensing his mental condition faltering, one of Sinister's trusted lieutenants tried to talk him out of his stupor but was recanted by the emerging Hybris Penumbra. The rockabilly cult preacher encountered a determined angel named Saradascael in the first few minutes of his emergence, asking her if she was willing to join The Cult of Achlys. When she refused, he smashed a bottle of Jack Daniels over her head to trigger his first fight. Although Sara gave it her all, even managing to injure the strange fiend, she was bested by his immense strength and unorthodox way of fighting. As a consequence, Hybris killed her by sucking out her brains. The fight drew attention from the heroes of Apollo City and they spotted Hybris carrying Sara's corpse, which started a race of who was going to make it to the Obelisk first. The heroes desperately attacked the racing Hybris, trying to blow him out of the water or distract him long enough so that they could rescue Sara's body. Meanwhile, Hybris had been planning to not only defile the body but cannibalize it. Fortunately, the Apollo City heroes were able to save Sara and temporarily defeat the psychotic Hybris. Unfortunately, they would not be able to save Interpol Agent Chun-Li, who was sent in as a response to the formation of The Elysium Archipelago and to check the status of Savage Ken. When she learned that Ken was dead and Hybris was the new threat, she tried desperately to bring him in for questioning. Though, Hybris' power utterly eclipsed hers and the preacher ended up devouring her innards through her navel before turning her corpse into teriyaki jerky. After a week, he revived her as one of his cultists , using her connections to stave off any efforts from global military. The emergence of Hybris let the heroes know to never let their guard down.
