Disaster / Destruction
Sinister Maharana attempts to destroy Apollo City with a wave of Nether.
Alastor's appearance triggered a rise in protection around Apollo City and the Isle of Dawn as a whole, as well as numerous attempts to destroy the Obelisk Obscura in retaliation. This led to Sinister becoming more reclusive and evolving into more of a strategist than someone who relied purely on the power of the Nether. However, Srejj Goonth and the Pantheon Gods he had become allies with soon convinced him that, if he did nothing, the heroes would soon master the element of Aether and take him out for good. Still wrestling with mental fragility and trusting his counsel of preternatural peers, Sinister set out in a sudden, unplanned attack against Apollo City, utterly frustrated that his Schema were able to make progress but he was seen as a simple figurehead. He momentarily abandoned his strategic disposition and attacked the Isle of Dawn with a massive wave of Nether, seeking to both destroy the city in its entirety and force the heroes to join him so that they would not suffer the same fate. It was a recalling to his initial emergence, seeking to take on all comers and hoping that the results would be the same as they were in the beginning. However, the heroes were ready for him, having banded together into a family of strength and hope. Saradascael and Scathath challenged Sinister to a fight on Poseidon's Crest while Augustus and an innovative man named Tak formulated a city-wide barrier to cushion the damage that his pure Nether would do. Ingeniously, they tapped into the city's source of Aether for the first time as a catalyst for its own defenses. Through this, they were able to protect a majority of the city but lost some of the waterfronts to the initial wave. Saradascael and Scathath were able to seriously injure Sinister Maharana, forcing him to retreat and saving Apollo City from his clutches once again. This event brought about the first ideas of creating a city-wide barrier to protect the city against abrupt strikes, both conventional and metaphysical.
