Disaster / Destruction
Sinister's alternate personality, Alastor Umbra, emerges and nearly destroys The Arch.
After Hybris Penumbra's first defeat and Sinister's eventual return, there was a change in his behavior that many believed to be a reflection of his losses so far. However, this was far from the case. Over the next few weeks, reports of strange murders and missing people had become so prevalent throughout Apollo City that the Apollo Police Department put up posters and held meetings about a potential serial killer. This also reinforced the relationship between local authorities and the newly created Watchdogs paramilitary unit. Saradascael, who had recovered from her battle with Hybris, followed a lead to the local Apollo Supermarket on a mysterious man harassing several citizens. She ended up encountering Sinister in one of the grocery aisles, chasing him throughout the store as he held a screaming woman hostage. The chase ended in the grocery loading dock where the woman was mostly cannibalized and Sinister escaped by crawling along the wall and screeching at Sara like an animal. These small events all came to a head when Hermes General had reported an intruder who was killing patients, leading the heroes of Apollo to gather around the medical district and rope off access to all other citizens. Rose Blossom, one of the interim heroes of the city, was informed that the hospital had been fully evacuated except for the strange man and used her magic to blow up the building. This resulted in the summoning of Sinister's most powerful and violent personality, Alastor Umbra. Although the heroes were initially outmatched by his raw strength and dogged personality, a Saiyan named Broly quickly intervened on the heroes' behalf and engaged in a destructive fight with Alastor. A majority of the heroes handled evacuating Apollo's citizens to the less damaged districts while Broly and Avath worked together to keep Alastor's power at bay, leading to all three of them forcing one another to push the envelope with every passing second. On the ropes for the first time ever, Alastor's fury reached its boiling point and he attempted to not only destroy Apollo City but awaken the sleeping Greek God Aether that slumbered beneath. On the brink of destroying the planet from this disruptive ritual, Sinister's trusted lieutenant, Srejj Goonth, stopped Alastor in his tracks and used his unique power of conceptual devouring to drain the child of his rage. This placed him in a state of slumber and put a stop to the weeks of needless rampage. This was the first time the Archipelago had witnessed the worst of Sinister's power, as well as the personal appearance of underlings who may have been even more capable than their leader.
