Apollo City holds its first Elysian Gauntlet tournament at the Coliseum of Ares. However, its closing ceremonies introduce new evils to the islands and stunning consequences to vigilantes.

Following the first annual Elysian Gauntlet tournament at Ares Coliseum, in which Sakuya Izayoi and Korpsman Emeric were declared the victors in their respective brackets, chaos ensued. Interrupting the ceremony was a video which congratulated and verbally reprimanded those present, initiated by Hidalgo, who was revealed to be less human than he appeared. The video spoke not only of a reckoning that would befall the Elysium Archipelago but also proclaimed that a countdown had begun before the cyber criminal, known as Psycho Cyber, would take matters into his own hands. Once the video concluded, a terrorist assault was launched by an unknown gunman, demolishing most of the arena with bullets and planted explosives. Furthering the chaos, otherworldly monsters and demons were soon unleashed upon the city, in which the metahumans had to band together in order to quell the madness. The tail end of this madness was the introduction of two particularly malicious cultists: Jezza Torres and Fitz.   Following the tournament's end, the Masters Dojo began exhibiting seismic activity and a localized thunderstorm. Some of Apollo City's warriors were summoned by the occurrence, including Ahri, Sakuya, Augustus, and several others who gathered at the Dojo the night before. After experiencing the brunt of Jezza's muscle manipulation and supernatural strength, the group bested her and granted her mercy, thus triggering the beginning of the Dojo Dungeon. In Apollo City, the interim drug kingpin, Fitz, took to running the Stars drug around the city before ultimately having his drug deals busted and dragged to jail by Gwen and her Apollo Argonauts. Even his spacial swapping capabilities weren't enough to save him from the bestial might of their new members.   Following the tournament, it was discovered that the entire betting racket in the Elysian Gauntlet were run by the Nosferatu Boys. Youmu and Sakuya discovered this information after a tournament afterparty was held at Thirsty's in Old Town after a vampire madame named Lipa bragged about murdering a family of four and using their innards as party favors after they discovered they couldn't pay. Youmu promised to make Lipa and the Nosferatu boys pay, which she eventually did by slaughtering Lipa and a number of hookers in the infamous Red Lane of Old Town. Following Youmu and Sakuya's brazen attack, they forcefully took a popular corner store, called The Corner, from the Nosferatu Boys. It was subsequently transformed into a flower shop, much to the bemusement of the Old Town residents. However, Sakuya's slaughter and Youmu's encounter with the innocent orc store owner, Itiz, was recorded and sent to the Apollo News Network.   After spinning the story to make Sakuya and Youmu into wanted criminals, the duo teamed up with Gwen in order to strike a serious blow to the Nosferatu Boys' hold over Old Town by killing Heavyblood vampire Konstantin at Thirsty's. When the three arrived at the nightclub, they were met with a small army of vampires who were ordered to kill them after they refused to leave. The entire fight was captured on video by the human tourists and uploaded to social media, which not only painted Gwen, Youmu, and Sakuya as serial killers but also launched the Nosferatu Boys into a sympathetic position in which people of Apollo City believed that they were being oppressed by the Meta community. Before the trio had a chance to leave the demolished nightclub, the APD, led by Lieutenant Keith Marshall, placed them all under arrest and charged them with multiple criminal counts including first-degree murder. It was this imprisonment that coincided with a newcomer who not only incited chaos, but opened Pandora's Box.
