History

The Varnym family Founder was raised to knighthood after the 2nd Aenarian War. He served the original Eorl Between-The-Waters faithfully for most of his remaining life and gave his last defending his lord from Aenarian rebels. Upon his death, the Eorl took the children in and raised the eldest as a knight. When the King sought to expand the borders, the Eorl presented the Varnym family as an excellent choice for cutting new lands out of the wilderness. To the surprise of all, the King decided to overrule the Eorl and grant the Varnym family any lands they could settle and hold as a Free Lordship. It was rumored that the Eorl Between-The-Waters had expected to receive a new vassal and was none too pleased at the result.
