Empyrium

A vital metal in the working of magical artifacts and equipment, empyrium is thought to bear a direct, magical connection to the Gods themselves. It is mined in few places in the Empire, and is typically imported from the periphery. Trade in empyrium is strictly regulated by the Occult Consortium, who hold an Imperial monopoly over its mining, refinement and exchange.
