The Silent Brother
An aura of dread follows the name of the Silent Brother - the mysterious leader of the Whispers. With a whispered threat, or an anonymous informant, it is said that no one can hide from The Silent Brother. Tales are whispered of their shadowy form gliding through the night like a wraith, ready to pounce on any loose thread of information and weave it into their web of secrets. Even the bravest shudder in terror when they hear the echoes of the Silent Brother's voice.
The followers of the Silent Brother entice the fear out of society and leave no wondering inquirer standing. The mystery and fear of the unknown is fed by them to keep society at a distance and under their indirect control. The Whispers see the Silent Brother as the unseen leader of all things. The one true leader that will bring them to victory against the darkness one day. Nothing said, nothing done.

Responsibilities
The Silent Brother is the key point in the Whispers' entire information network. All information is passed to the silent brother and then written carefully, with every bit of detail, on a scroll stored away in the Whispers' stash. The Silent Brother spends most of their time filtering through the information and making use to find any clue to taking down the darkness.
History
The Silent Brother was the unofficial/informal title given to Edrick Talworthy by the members of The Whispers. It had been first coined to reference Edrick without using his name, in order to lessen the amount of people who knew his true identity and purpose. Most of society did not know the true name of the Silent Brother, nor did they care to ask. The Whispers preferred it that way.
The first time Edrick heard the title, he was rather confused and a bit amused. He had not considered titles being necessary in their organization, but he was proven wrong after the insistance of his followers. Not concerning himself too deeply, he let them discuss titles and rankings amongst themselves. He had rather more important things to consider.
