Southern Marches

Structure

The Warlord is chosen by the Emperor. This Warlord is in charge of the southern marches making sure the Savages don't come up North to cause trouble. He also needs to protect the surrounding villages.

The Current Warlord is fighting the Savages down south making an attempt to wipe them out.

The Marches only have 5 thousand trained hardened men at their service. The southern wall is still in construction and cannot be used to protect the Empire.
There are 2 standing castles that try their best to protect the border.

History

The history of the Marches is filled with destruction and war.
The original Marches only had peasants to defend the border. This soon turned into a southern tradition of peasants joining the Southern Core.
The Marches specialize in Forest Combat and often wear the colors of Black and White to camouflage themselves. More is explained in the southern Core
2140 was when the first great army attacked from the south destroying the surrounding cities and towns killing more than a million civilians and killing even more Soldiers.
2 of the 10 Dukes of Death were slain in this war. The Marches swore that this would never happen again. When the second army hit the Marches were able to beat them back but never recovered from the battles. Their army was devastated castles were burned down. Nobles were kidnapped and murdered. People fled north. Yet the Marches held on surviving the second army even beating back a smaller force of raiders soon after.
