Maydlow Family
The Maydlow family is a fairly prominent noble family in Korosa. Rashona Abither, wife of Oligarch Kian Abither, comes from this line, as do notable magecrafters Yasmin and Viera Maydlow. Some look down on the family, as its original prominent members - Karlus and Yasmin Maydlow - were a pirate and a slave, respectively, but most understand that it isn't exactly the best idea to insult the family of an Oligarch's wife.
Structure
Yasmin Maydlow is the current matriarch of the Maydlow family, taking up the position after her husband's death nineteen years ago, though she makes very few active steps within the political scene. Most of the actual maneuvering is done by her adoptive son Lavernus and her granddaughter Viera.
Yasmin and Viera both work as magecrafters, raising buildings, appraising magic items, or offering magical healing where they are needed, though Althea generally manages the latter. Lavernus, Melissa, and Dorsey, meanwhile, all run various businesses around Korosa, with Lavernus working alongside his partner Lloyd Keyair at the Seagrape Winery, Melissa managing the Layflower brothel, and Dorsey manning Bubbling Seawater, the alchemy shop.
Culture
Although the Maydlow family produced the infamously cruel Rashona Abither, most of them are generally good, or at least not particularly bad. With four of their number capable of healing, many people owe their lives to the Maydlow family, but they rarely ask any favors in return.
Public Agenda
What little political maneuvering is done by the Maydlow family is generally in opposition to the Abither family. They criticize the harsh treatment of Reishi's slaves, and Yasmin especially is pushing for better conditions.
Assets
The Maydlow family is still riding high off of Karlus' wealth, and would all likely be able to remain comfortable throughout the remainder of their life without having to work. Of course, as Reishi, they continue to collect coin anyways, leaving them very well off.
Although they could likely afford a home in the Taylan district if they chose to buy one, the Maydlow Estate is currently in the Hano district.
