Shield Rules
The quality of the shield also coincides with the size. A base shield or a shield +1 is a small shield, a shield +2 is a medium shield, a shield +3 is a large shield.
Small Shield:
This shield can be attached to a character’s arm without hindering the use of that arm. This means that a character can still hold a weapon effectively with that arm.Medium Shield:
This shield requires actually holding onto it or having a handgrip while it is attached to the arm. It covers more than the small shield, hence the higher ac boost.Large Shield:
This shield has a few effects because of its overall size. First off, it gives a disadvantage to any ranged attacks against it. Second, it gives resistance to any slashing, piercing, and bludgeoning damage. On the other side, it gives half movement speed because of the size, and with that, it gives a disadvantage on stealth rolls.
