Glowing Blood

The Firefly Festival is a spectacular event that takes place every year. The whole city is lit by fireflies and luminescent mushrooms that have been placed in trees and on rope bridges. All the inhabitants wait in front of the fountain of life to receive their sip. A few minutes after drinking the water from the fountain, their veins begin to glow with various colours ranging from blood red to citrus green. The euphoric effects are not long in coming and a real orgy takes place in front of the fountain, even Telrael had never seen anything like it.

The Major Effects of the Fountain of Life

The water from the fountain has medicinal virtues, it has already been used by the Orym for more than 2500 years (according to the oldest writings deciphered by Telrael). The most notable virtue is the tranquilizing effect of the water, it is used mainly by wardens injured while on patrol. I have also noticed that water accelerates the metabolism and thus allows a quicker recovery of the patients (physical injuries, illness, etc.). Many unwanted effects have been noticed by locals, the most important one is the very fast addiction of water, according to local doctors, only two intakes in less than a week could trigger a major addiction.

Multiphasic Arcane Analysis and the Fountain of Life

Unlike blood, the water in the fountain does not glow. In a first study I was able to validate the theory that the water from the fountain of life emits light when it is in contact with an arcanic source of life type. However, the different colors pose an equally important question. According to the first observations on different individuals (Oryms, Myro) and different animals, the color emitted would depend on the second arcanic phase of the blood. The following table describes the arcanic nature associated with its colour. This theory would require further study but is validated by initial measurements.
