Annam, All-Father
Deity, Giant Pantheon
Creator of the giant race, in ancient times Annam sculpted the Prime Material to be fit for Giantkind to rule over. He is the leader of the Giant Pantheon, and although his home used to be Jotunheim, he now rules from a distant and unknown place.
Description
Annam is rarely seen but when he does appear it will be as a 100ft tall Giant wrapped in deep blue cloth and wearing a long white beard. Annam encompasses many emotions. He is calculating and impulsive, patient and eager. However, he is far more stubborn than anything else; his mind is not easily changed except in rare circumstances, now even rarer since the loss of his wife Othea. All Giants who worship Annam see him as a God who represents their values. For example, he was seen as a massive glutton to Hill Giants, an artist by Stone Giants, and a reveller and warrior to Frost Giants.Activities
Annam currently exists to give power to the Giant Pantheon; he has grown distant and complacent. He rarely acts, but his sons continue to carry out his will, that being to rule over lesser creatures and exercise their great strength.History
Annam is an ancient God. When the Prime Material was like clay to be moulded, Annam formed it into a land suitable for the Giant race and eventually the humble subjects whom the Giants would rule over. Annam’s wife Othea had already given Annam sons, like Stronmaus and Memnor, but now they set about populating the Prime Material with mortal Giants. Centuries passed and Giantkind thrived on the Prime Material. Annam had established the Ordning so that his mortal descendants would know their place among each other. He also founded the kingdom of Ostoria, the capital of which was Voninheim. At this time, Dragons began developing on the Prime Material and they warred with the Giants over territory, both mighty races believing they had the right to dominion over this world. What resulted was known as the Thousand Year War. It was a stalemate to the end. Annam challenged the Dragon Garyx to a game of Wah-Ree to determine the outcome of the war, but even this game ended in a draw. Both sides were forced to retreat, their forces weakened and the land ruined. Annam and his sons retreated to the realm of Jotunheim in Ysgard. Othea returned at a later time, but soon after that she lost her life in unknown circumstances. Annam lost his will to reclaim the glory of ancient Ostoria, and he left Jotunheim.
