Blackroot

A dark-green, dried, flakey substance harvested from leaves that grow around a Verdant Fungus in the Underdark. When this dried substance is smoked, or brewed into a tea, it grants an individual heightened senses and alertness for several hours, though leaves them nauseous and tired afterwards.
It was first discovered by Drow Scouts who found cooking with these leaves to enhance their perception. Since then, it's been harvested and utilised by surface races close to regions of the Upper Dark.
