The Gold Scaled was forged during the Age of Humanity during the Aberrant Dawn. An alliance was made between the angel Solthra and an Ancient Gold Dragon named Palarandus. The hero that wore the armour did not survive this battle and the armour was lost. It was found washed against the cliffs at The Lost Cove. It was sold from pirate to pirate, island to island. Stories of its existence spread across the Ssharstrune Ocean for centuries. It was notably in the possession of the Mindflayer Captain of The Dreadreavers, before they lost a battle with another pirate crew helmed by Captain Jaks in 213 MR. The relic was then sold, where it was again passed around between wealthy merchants. A fake was made around this time, and the real copy was taken aboard a ship called the Jewelled Nest, though the ship was sunk and destroyed by a Brine Serpent. The relic fell into possession of a Merrow under an Aboleth's influence. In 257 MR, the Storm's Ward recovered this item, where it was worn by Yan Iralias for a short period before being handed to Duskwell for safe keeping. The item was not used enough to progress beyond Dormant.
