Anatomy

Bulky and insect like, Mal'Vendar have six beetle like legs under its heavy blue-black carapace and leathery wings.

Genetics and Reproduction

Mal'Vendar are a species with three sexes. Two of the sexes produce gametes for copulation which are given to the third sex to carry until the new Mal'Vendar is born.

Growth Rate & Stages

Mal'Vendar grow very slowly. It can take upwards of 50 years for a Mal'Vendar grub to metamorphose into an adult.

Ecology and Habitats

Mal'Vendar thrive in most habitats with lots of rot and carrion to feed off of. They dislike bright light and loud sounds.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Mal'Vendar are carrion eaters. They live in the depths of the Necrotic Wastes feeding on the corpses and the undead that fill that land.

Average Intelligence

They can speak infernal, but do not understand what they are saying. They chant horrible death curses at potential enemies, but seem to do so without any understanding of what they are doing.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Mal'Vendar are blind in the traditional sense. They mostly utilize echo location and their antennae to move about the murky crags of the Necrotic Wastes.
