Triton

Triton are bipedal amphibious creatures with green to blue skin with webbed feet and fins where the ears would be on most other creatures. They are stereotypically cool, calm, and collected in most situations. They originally hailed from the deep oceans, but during the Cataclysm they were forced from their homes beneath the waves by the awakening of the eldritch monsters of the depths. They, like the gnomes, are one of the major races of the Clockwork Empire where a number of their kind work as savvy business moguls within the higher tiers of society.

The Triton are a race born of the mad god Janus before his mind was lost. They barely hold any reverence to their old god, rather, they respect the sea and many wealthy triton will have aquariums and seashell decorations in their homes or offices.

The Triton build little of their own. Currently most triton live in buildings built by gnomes and very little of their original culture still remains in their dress or living arrangements. Rather they have taken on much of gnomish culture, although it is oft marred by the typically dour mood typical of their kind.
