Aeonic Shard

An Aeonic Shard is a smaller piece of an Aeon of pleroma. Shards are created when ylem is manipulated to connect and teether a piece of an Aeon into the Expanse. A shard is incredibly powerful, able to bend ylem and reality at will. The process of placing a shard into a vessal is called an "Incarnata" and this ritual is incredibly dangerous to all involved. The shard once incarnated into a vessel most often goes dormant inside to protect itself and the others. A shard that awakens in its vessel and successfully merges with it creates a Integrated Aeonic Shard or IAS if integration fails then the two consciousness are trapped in an ongoing mental war for dominence and survival, with the Shard and the host eventually going insane. All Aeonic Shards existing in the Expanse are products of Incarnata done by the Dregon in their attempts to create a bridge to pleroma.
