The Iotian Empire

The Iotian Empire, with it's capital of Iota Prime (or simply Prime) is the largest galactic political body in The Expanse. It was founded by Emperor Iota the First, who serves as it's god-emperor. Though the Emperor maintains ultimate authority in all things, each planet and planetary system is also a memeber of a large regulatory and political body, the Imperial Senate. The Senate is home to the many commitees, sub comittes and regulatory bodies that govern the day to day affairs of the empire. The Head of the Imperial Senate is the Grand Chancellor, this position is currently held by Peytov Sa'la and is appointed by the Emperor after a lengthy recomendattion and selection process from members of the Senate and various diplomats.
