Hjarnag's Chariot
Hooves of Thunder
The chariot no longer serves me in battle, for I do not belong anymore on the battlefield. I rather wish it to be a symbol of hope for the young ones.
While Hjarnag sits upon her throne most of the time, even the storm goddess needs a method of transportation. To do so, she calls upon the aid of her chariot. Pulled by thirty-one goats, it carries her across Nõrdlann wherever she needs at the speed of lightning.
The Storm Goddess's ride
Thunder & Lightning
The two-wheeled vehicle is an one-man chariot, built out of the finest oak from trees as ancient as the land. From it hangs memorials of her days in battle, shields of allies long lost and names engraved in its wood. Yet its purpose no longer is for war.
Thirty-one goats pull the chariot across the sky, all owned by Hjarnag. Horns made of iron and hooves of flint, igniting the storm clouds with lightning wherever they go.
According to myth, it moves at such blinding speeds it can only be seen for a split second. Everything it comes in impact with gets trampled to bits, leaving scorch marks behind.
Giving Goddess
Once a year, Hjarnag takes time out of her duties to traverse the rest of Nõrdlann instead. And while doing so, she brings with her gifts and presents to the people.
During the darkest night of the year, the spirits that wait for the final fight against the Titans carve toys for children. The storm goddess gathers all of them, and brings them across the expanses of the north. As thunder strikes, it means she moved to the next town.
Good children find toys and treats upon their beds, made by an ancestor of their family. Though bad children instead find droppings of her goats, which they must clean as punishment.
A pile of droppings from 31 goats must be *fun* to clean up :)
