Sibling Bond
There is a rare instance that occurs between Elven siblings born of the same mother within a decade. These children are born with an undeniable and unbreakable connection. Their souls are tied together at a fundamental level.
This bond is incredibly rare since for most Elven woman it uncommon to have 2 children in itself let alone born within the same decade.
These siblings feel connected and tied together. They will understand each other better than anyone else, are attuned to each other's feelings and are left bereft when torn apart.

Manifestation
The bond is formed as a result of the magic of the mother. When an Elven child is born, they siphon some of the mother's magic into themselves as a jumpstart for their own magic to grow. It takes roughly 10 years for the babe to produce their own magic innately, after which the mother's magic returns to her. In this decade the mother is weakened and somewhat vulnerable.
If the mother has a second child whilst the first still holds her magic, the same magic siphon occurs but with an additional factor.
The mother's magic wishes to return to it's original host but the mother subconsciously refuses such. It is impossible for the mother to regain her magic before the babe is done with it. However the 2 pieces of magic within the children are not halted from reaching out. Since they cannot reach their original host, they reach for each other.
The magic within the children bonds back together as it would inside the mother and this is what causes the sibling bond. Even after the magic returns to the mother, the children have grown their own magic with the connected pieces as their templates and unconsciously bound their own souls together.

The bond only occurs for Elves born of the same mother within a decade of each other. It does not apply to changelings and their siblings who can be the same age mentally but not physically.
