Leptola

(Art by Catseathedevil)

Basic Information

Anatomy

Leptola's bodies are similar to a rabbit's with wings extending our from their shoulders and attached along their backs with a tail at the back. Their bodies are covered in fur with four limbs, two front legs and two back legs. On top of their heads are a set of long fluffy ears.

Ecology and Habitats

Leptolas tend to prefer to sleep upon the branches of trees with their wings cocooned around them to trap the heat their bodies naturally give off.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Should a Leptola live in the colder mountain climate they will gnaw on tree bark and pine needles but since the Faery Realm has varying locations they will come down from their mountain homes into the warmer areas and feed on leafy weeds as well as grass.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

The pads of their paws are hyper sensitive to the vibrations of the world around them and they can sense anything approaching it from miles away simply by "listening" to the vibrations through their feet. Their bodies always run warm enough to melt snow at the highest mountain peak. While they are artists of the air their wings can act as fins in the water making them just as strong a swimmer.

Civilization and Culture

History

The first Leptola was a human named Corin brought into the Faery Realm by the butterflies sent out when Faevyn searched for others to live within the Realm. Others saw his form and over time their imaginations sparked the magic of the realm to transform them, too, into that of the Leptola in honor of their Prince.
