Bots

Developed later than the Androids, Bots are very similar but at the same time very different. While the Androids were developed to be human-like, Bots were made with more practical functions in mind in order to make the new technology useful. They are built to operate the different machines of the empire with higher expertise than regular AI's, from piloting to performing complex tasks of maintenance. They are incapable of controlling the most complex and large machines of the empire, as such machines require very specialized AI's.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Unlike Androids, Bots are not designed to have bodies but instead, they are small box-shaped computers that can be connected to larger machines to operate them. Outside of such machines, they are completely immobile only able to rely on their voice synthesizer and inbuilt internet connection to communicate with others and get help.

Genetics and Reproduction

They are created by factories operated by advanced AI that keep performing their function without obeying no one and thus the exact flow of new androids cannot be controlled nor predicted, especially since only those IA are able to manufacture bots. Usually, they are fabricated alongside a maintenance drone to serve them as temporal bodies.

Behaviour

Bot's powerful processors make them, in pure thought processing and logic, smarter than any other species except Greater AI's.  On the other hand, unlike Androids, are not equipped to fully understand human emotions so they tend to be much more socially awkward than others. They tend to contemplate life with a more cold logic approach, but as sentient beings they are, they still have emotions and can break with the stereotype.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

They are unable to see anything in their box form except hearing, on the rest of their senses they rely only on the senses of the machine they are operating. Luckily, most gairan machines have inbuilt sensors they can use if needed.
